My parents (left-center US Democrats) love him for his later stuff, and I was agog. But something about his sense of humor doesn't jive with the character he played on Top Gear.
I'm not a Christian, so I don't care about the contents of someone's heart. I care about what they do, and what they induce to happen through what they say.
And I've never been able to figure out what that guy does and says. But he sure says it loudly.
