The organisation I work for has a schedule for assigning people certain tasks.
At some point this started being called the ROTA. It is now always capitalised. Previously it had been the rota.
Somehow nobody has ever, to my knowledge, challenged this apparent invention of an acronym. I don't know what it could possibly stand for. As far as I can tell it remains a rota and we just collectively decided one day to make it the ROTA...

One of my favourite bits of weird infrastructure is this bridge in a #Glasgow railway station. It has no roof, but the walls are normal glazing units.
But they've stumped-up for the double-glazed option.

For the second time this year I'm at a conference in a place with mountains and I may now boycott any future meetings which don't meet this requirement.

I wanted nicer looking maps for blog posts about hills.

In a good example of one of my "fun little projects" getting totally out of hand, I now have a full basemap of Scotland on my website which shows all the hills in my own hand-crafted style.
